If you're looking for local co-op, Spelunky's is probably the most hilarious. If that's what you're into, go for it by all means.
Other people have suggested Terraria but I wasn't a huge fan, it just felt like a 2D minecraft. I've heard good things about Battleblock Theater but I haven't put that many hours into it, maybe about 10ish. It's got the sort of MVC style combo system and is similar to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, with custom assists and hand-drawn animation.

Super easy to get into because it has a really intuitive combo system, and the best tutorial I've seen in a fighter that actually explains how to play against humans. If you're into fighting games, check out Skullgirls when it goes on flash/daily sale. It's a flash sale right now for $1.50 but not for much longer. HOTS is a free2play top-down MOBA if you like that more, also free2play.
Smite is a great 3rd person MOBA, free2play with a very fair pricing model 20-25€ for all playable gods. Orion Prelude is fun, and just 0.50€ right now.ĭirty Bomb is free2play and a lot of fun, if you like fast paced shooters (has so much more than just fast pace).
